Repair Shop Communication

If the painter/repair shop doesn’t ask questions on how much effort you want put into a finish or repair, you run the risk of being charged a premium with no agreement on the quality of labor. I’ve personally been burned by shops who do not practice good communication, my expectations were that the repair would be factory standards, and I got back ugly visible cracks, and the finish was not restored. Some customers may not care about the aesthetic of the repair, but the repair shop didn’t ask me if I cared, and they didn’t give me the option to choose an ugly repair vs a full restoration. paint and repair shops are usually pros but communication is not a skill they teach you in wood working or paint trade programs, at best you will get a verbal agreement on the labor, and you will get the premium price with zero guarantees. However, with any experienced shop you, should expect for them to ask you those questions. If the shop does not have levels of repair, and price points to match with detailed descriptions of each price point, you can expect to receive the premium price, and the quality is a total crap shoot.
How we do it: Here at Hammer Custom Drums, we understand that the standards every individual expects may be different. we ask questions first, and communicate well to understand the needs of the individual. expect to get detailed service, because quality of service matters. expect nothing less.
