Hybrid Shell Joints

Been a while since I posted, will take more time to post about the awesome world of drum building. Did you know that hybrid drum shells are fit together with spacing between the joints being as close as 64th of an inch? And that drum shell sizes can vary from end to end up to a 16th of an inch? That means that each Hybrid shell joint is cut and fit specific to the joint. If each joint was cut to the same size there would be large gaps in the joint and voids in the adhesive resin. Great effort and much time and care goes into each joint as It is cut, which means that it may be tedious but it ensures a tight snug fit and strong durable life long lasting drum shell!
